你若与官长坐席，要留意在你面前的是甚麽。
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what [is] before thee:

你若是贪食的，就当拿刀放在喉咙上。
And put a knife to thy throat, if thou [be] a man given to appetite.
箴言 23:3 · Proverbs 23:3
不可贪恋他的美食，因为是哄人的食物。
Be not desirous of his dainties: for they [are] deceitful meat.
箴言 23:4 · Proverbs 23:4
不要劳碌求富，休仗自己的聪明。
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

你岂要定睛在虚无的钱财上吗？因钱财必长翅膀，如鹰向天飞去。
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for [riches] certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

不要吃恶眼人的饼，也不要贪他的美食；
Eat thou not the bread of [him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

因为他心怎样思量，他为人就是怎样。他虽对你说，请吃，请喝，他的心却与你相背。
For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is] not with thee.

你所吃的那点食物必吐出来；你所说的甘美言语也必落空。
The morsel [which] thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.

你不要说话给愚昧人听，因他必藐视你智慧的言语。
Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
箴言 23:10 · Proverbs 23:10
不可挪移古时的地界；也不可侵入无父之人的田地。
Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:
箴言 23:11 · Proverbs 23:11
因他们的救赎主大有能力，他必向你为他们辨屈。
For their redeemer [is] mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.
箴言 23:12 · Proverbs 23:12
你要留心领受训诲，侧耳听从知识的言语。
Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
箴言 23:13 · Proverbs 23:13
不可不管教孩童；你用杖打他，他必不至於死。
Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
箴言 23:14 · Proverbs 23:14
你要用杖打他，就可以救他的元魂免下地狱。
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
箴言 23:15 · Proverbs 23:15
我儿，你心若存智慧，我的心也甚欢喜。
My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.

你的嘴若说正确话，我的肺腑也必快乐。
Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.
箴言 23:17 · Proverbs 23:17
你心中不要嫉妒罪人，只要终日敬畏 耶和华；
Let not thine heart envy sinners: but [be thou] in the fear of the LORD all the day long.
箴言 23:18 · Proverbs 23:18
因为至终必有善报，你的指望也不致断绝。
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

我儿，你当听，当存智慧，好在正道上引导你的心。
Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
箴言 23:20 · Proverbs 23:20
好饮酒的，好吃肉的，不要与他们来往；
Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
箴言 23:21 · Proverbs 23:21
因为好酒贪食的，必致贫穷；好睡觉的，必穿破烂衣服。
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe [a man] with rags.
箴言 23:22 · Proverbs 23:22
你要听从生你的父亲；你母亲老了，也不可藐视她。
Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
箴言 23:23 · Proverbs 23:23
你当买真理；就是智慧丶训诲，和聪明也都不可卖。
Buy the truth, and sell [it] not; [also] wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
箴言 23:24 · Proverbs 23:24
义人的父亲必大得快乐；人生智慧的孩子，必因他欢喜。
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise [child] shall have joy of him.
箴言 23:25 · Proverbs 23:25
你要使父母欢喜，使生你的快乐。
Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
箴言 23:26 · Proverbs 23:26
我儿，要将你的心归我；你的眼目也要谨守我的道路。
My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
箴言 23:27 · Proverbs 23:27
淫妇是深阱；外女是窄坑。
For a whore [is] a deep ditch; and a strange woman [is] a narrow pit.
箴言 23:28 · Proverbs 23:28
她又埋伏，好像要得掠物；她使人中加增犯罪的。
She also lieth in wait as [for] a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
箴言 23:29 · Proverbs 23:29
谁有祸患？谁有忧愁？谁有争斗？谁胡言乱语？谁无故受伤？谁眼目红赤？
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
箴言 23:30 · Proverbs 23:30
就是那流连饮酒丶常去寻找调和酒的人。
They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
箴言 23:31 · Proverbs 23:31
酒发红，在杯中闪烁，你不可观看，虽然下咽舒畅，
Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
箴言 23:32 · Proverbs 23:32
终久是咬你如蛇，刺你如蝰蛇。
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
箴言 23:33 · Proverbs 23:33
你眼必看见外女；你心必发出乖谬的话。
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
箴言 23:34 · Proverbs 23:34
你必像躺在海中，或像卧在桅杆上。
Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
箴言 23:35 · Proverbs 23:35
你必说：人打我，我却未受伤；人鞭打我，我竟不觉得。我几时清醒，我仍去寻酒。
They have stricken me, [shalt thou say, and] I was not sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
