这些事以後，耶稣在加利利行走，不愿在犹太行走，因为犹太人想要杀他。
After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

当时犹太人的住棚节近了。
Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.

耶稣的弟兄就对他说：「你离开这里上犹太去吧，叫你的门徒也看见你所行的事。
His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

人要显扬名声，没有在暗处行事的；你如果行这些事，就当将自己显明给世人看。」
For [there is] no man [that] doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

因为连他的弟兄也不信他。
For neither did his brethren believe in him.

耶稣就对他们说：「我的时候还没有到；你们的时候常是方便的。
Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

世人不能恨你们，却是恨我，因为我指证他们所作的事是恶的。
The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

你们上去过节吧。我现在还不上去过这节；因为我的时候还没有满。」
Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

耶稣对他们说了这些话，仍旧住在加利利。
When he had said these words unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee.

但他弟兄上去以後，他也上去过节，不是明去，似乎是暗去的。
But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

正在节期，犹太人寻找耶稣，说：「他在哪里？」
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

百姓为他纷纷议论，因有的说：「他是好人。」有的说：「不然；他是迷惑人的。」
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

只是没有人明明的讲论他，因为怕犹太人。
Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

节期之间，耶稣上殿里去教训人。
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

犹太人就希奇，说：「这个人没有学过，怎麽明白书呢？」
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

耶稣回答他们说：「我的道理不是我自己的，乃是那差我来者的。
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

人若立志遵着他的旨意行，就必晓得这道理或是出於 上帝，或是我凭着自己说的。
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself.

人凭着自己说，是求自己的荣耀；唯有求那差他来者的荣耀，这人是真的，在他心里没有不义。
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
约翰福音 7:19 · John 7:19
摩西岂不是传律法给你们吗？你们却没有一个人守律法。为甚麽想要杀我呢？」
Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
约翰福音 7:20 · John 7:20
百姓回答说：「你是被鬼魔附着了。谁想要杀你？」
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

耶稣对他们说：「我作了一件事，你们都以为希奇。
Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
约翰福音 7:22 · John 7:22
摩西传割礼给你们（其实不是从摩西起的，乃是从祖先起的），因此你们也在安息日给人行割礼。
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

人若在安息日受割礼，免得违背摩西的律法，我在安息日叫一个人全然好了，你们就向我生气吗？
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
约翰福音 7:24 · John 7:24
不可按表面断定是非，总要按公义断定是非。」
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
约翰福音 7:25 · John 7:25
耶路撒冷人中有的说：「这不是他们想要杀的人吗？
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
约翰福音 7:26 · John 7:26
你看他还放胆讲道，他们也不向他说甚麽，难道官长真知道这是那位 基督麽？
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
约翰福音 7:27 · John 7:27
然而，我们知道这个人从哪里来；只是 基督来的时候，没有人知道他从哪里来。」
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

那时，耶稣在殿里教训人，大声说：「你们也知道我，也知道我从哪里来；我来并不是由於自己。但那差我来的是真的。你们不认识他，
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

我却认识他；因为我是从他来的，他也是差了我来。」
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
约翰福音 7:30 · John 7:30
他们就想要捉拿耶稣；只是没有人下手，因为他的时候还没有到。
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

百姓中间有许多信他的，说：「 基督来的时候，他所行的神迹岂能比这人所行的更多吗？」
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this [man] hath done?

法利赛人听见百姓为耶稣这样纷纷议论；祭司长和法利赛人就打发差役去捉拿他。
The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

於是耶稣对他们说：「我还有不多的时候和你们同在，以後就回到差我来的那里去。
Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and [then] I go unto him that sent me.

你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方你们不能到。」
Ye shall seek me, and shall not find [me]: and where I am, [thither] ye cannot come.
约翰福音 7:35 · John 7:35
犹太人就彼此对问说：「这人要往哪里去，叫我们找不着呢？难道他要往散住外邦中的犹太人那里去教训外邦人麽？
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

他说：『你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方，你们不能到。』这话是甚麽意思呢？」
What [manner of] saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find [me]: and where I am, [thither] ye cannot come?

节期的末日，就是最大之日，耶稣站着高声说：「人若渴了，可以到我这里来喝。
In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

信我的人就如圣经上所说：『从他腹中要流出活水的江河来。』」
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

（耶稣这话是指着信他之人，要受 灵而说的，那时还没有赐下 圣灵来，因为耶稣尚未得着荣耀。）
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

那时，百姓既听见这话，多有说：「这真是那 先知。」
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

有的说：「这是 基督。」但也有的说：「 基督岂是从加利利出来的吗？
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

圣经上岂不是说『 基督是大卫的後裔，从大卫本乡伯利恒出来的』吗？」
Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

於是民中因着耶稣有了纷争。
So there was a division among the people because of him.

其中有人要捉拿他，只是无人下手。
And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

差役回到祭司长和法利赛人那里。他们对差役说：「你们为甚麽没有带他来呢？」
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

差役回答说：「从来没有人像他这样说话的。」
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

法利赛人说：「你们也受了迷惑吗？
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

官长或是法利赛人岂有信他的呢？
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
约翰福音 7:49 · John 7:49
但这些不明白律法的百姓是被咒诅的。」
But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

内中有尼哥德慕，（就是从前夜里去见耶稣的，）对他们说：
Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

「不先听本人的口供，不知道他所作的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？」
Doth our law judge [any] man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
约翰福音 7:52 · John 7:52
他们回答他说：「你也是出於加利利吗？你且去查看；加利利原是没有出过先知。」
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

於是各人都回家去了。
And every man went unto his own house.
